How To Fix Bone Spurs In The Spine (Video)

In the last post, we talked about how to regenerate disc tissue in the spine in order to treat bulging and herniated discs. Frequently, people do not take the necessary steps in order to regenerate the discs in their spine which leads to bone spurs. The video below shows x-rays of a current patient here at Terry Chiropractic(Mark Anderson) who has regenerated disc tissue and eliminated bone spurs in his neck that were causing sever neck pain and arm pain.

What Are Bone Spurs?

A bone spur is a small, often times sharp growth of bone that develops around inflammated joints in the body. The most common place a bone spur will occur is on a vertebra in the spine.

What Causes Bone Spurs In The Spine?

Bone spurs in the spine are often the result of disc degeneration between the vertebrae. The diagram below shows a picture of a spine that has degenerated disc tissue. You can see that when a disc degenerates, there is less room for the nerves to protrude from the spinal column. If this process of degeneration were to continue, without interruption, the result would be a total loss of nerve function which would cause paralysis in the areas controled by that nerve. The body prevents this from happening by creating new bone structure in order to stop the degeneration. This new bone growth is created by osteoblastic activity and leads to bone spurs. When the process is complete, the vertebrae fuse together to prevent further degeneration.

Why Are Bone Spurs Bad?

A Bone spur is the bodies reaction to chronic inflammation in a joint. Therefore, when a person has bone spurs that are visible in an x-ray, you can see that the body is trying to tell them something. In the spine, bone spurs can cause any number of unpleasant symptoms:
