Comprehensive Consultation and Exam

A full consultation and check-up of a patient with anxiety and depression by a chiropractor involves a complete approach starting with meticulous medical history to know their biological and psychological conditions. The chiropractor carries out an extensive physical examination keen on the spine and the nervous system to detect any misalignments or tension that cause anxiety or depression. In some cases, diagnostic tools like X-rays or MRIs can be used for more precise information. The chiropractor also looks at stressors, sleep patterns, diet, exercise, etc., which make up the patient’s lifestyle. Results are shared with the patient on how mental wellness is determined by spinal health as such an individualized intervention strategy is agreed upon; it blends spinal adjustment therapy with soft tissue manipulation techniques plus changes in their lifestyles as well as other possible connections with mental health professionals for collaboration of care.

Custom Therapeutic Exercise Plan

In treating anxiety and depression, a chiropractor can develop a custom therapeutic plan that is very effective. Life is motion, and usual physical exercises like walking or yoga may bring down stress levels and lift moods.Move on to the next paragraph. The endorphins released during these workouts enhance moods, reduce stress hormones and improve self-esteem in people. The exercise programs are then tailored by chiropractors to fit into the needs of an individual so that they attain optimal mental health. Staying active also supports healing from physical injuries while maintaining joint health which further facilitates improved mental and physical well-being of patients. As such, it guarantees that the exercises are not above the capacity or objectives of the patient.

Nutritional Guidance

I would recommend TCB Chiropractic to anyone of my friends or family. From the moment I first started going here the people were so friendly and welcoming. If felt good to step into TCB and create relationships with doctors and other staff. Additionally TCB clearly and thoughtfully laid out a care plan that was best for me and helped answer any question I had. I feel like most doctors offices or Chiropractic facilities can feel transaction but this isn’t that case whatsoever with TCB. If your searching for local chiropractic care in Boulder, please take my advice and go to TCB!

Update: I have been working with the team at TCB for over a year now. The progress has been remarkable. The pain that had become a daily occurrence, to the point where I found it hard to sit for more than an hour, or turn my head while cycling, is now gone, with mild effects maybe once or twice a month when I have done something silly. The whole team at TCB are friendly, welcoming and very understanding. I have always found it easy to ask questions and find out more, and they have always made my life easier in changing appointments and keeping me informed. If you are having issues, I would recommend giving them a visit! I have worked with the team for over two months now and the change has been remarkable. The reduction in pain has been fantastic and the increase in mobility has been beyond what I was expecting. The whole team are friendly, patient and there to help. It has been great to work with a group who are focused on getting me better. I have appreciated the explanations, the help and the information that they have shared. I really feel like everyone is helping set me up for long term success. I wish I had found them sooner!

Common Causes of Anxiety & Depression in Boulder, CO

Genetics

Genetics may play a role in the development of anxiety and depression. Mental health disorders run in families, and if someone has close relatives with these mental conditions, they may be at greater risk for developing one of these conditions themselves. People with a family history of mental illness must check for signs and symptoms to get early treatment if required.

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse leads to changes in the brain that can make it difficult to cope with everyday stressors. Substance abuse is linked to an increased risk of developing anxiety. Substance abuse can lead to feelings of guilt, shame, and isolation. It can also increase the risk of developing other mental health issues.

Stress

Stress can lead to feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, and despair. Stressful life events such as a major illness, the death of a loved one, or financial troubles can increase the risk of developing these conditions. It is essential to find healthy ways to cope with stress.

Stress, whether mental, emotional, or physical, begins to take a toll on our health when it exceeds our body’s capacity to adapt. Chiropractic care can increase our body’s innate ability to react to stress and improves hormonal regulation. Chiropractic adjustments release serotonin and endorphins, our body’s natural mood enhancers.

Environmental Factors

Environmental factors such as poverty, poor living conditions, discrimination, lack of access to medical care, having a traumatic childhood, or growing up in an unstable home can increase the risk. Exposure to violence can also increase the risk.

These environmental factors can lead to feelings of insecurity and fear. It is essential to find healthy ways to cope with these difficult situations. Individuals with anxiety and depression need to have access to appropriate treatment.

Major Events

Major life events such as the death of a loved one, a divorce or break up, a new job or school, or a move to a new place can cause anxiety. These events can disrupt your lives and make you feel overwhelmed. It is important to find healthy ways to cope with these difficult situations to manage your emotions better.

Medical Condition

Certain medical conditions can contribute to anxiety and depression, such as thyroid disorder, chronic pain or fatigue, or traumatic brain injury. It is important to talk to your doctor if you think a chronic medical condition might impact your emotional well-being. Chiropractic care works to restore balance to the musculoskeletal system, combating chronic pain and triggering the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Brain Chemistry

Chemical imbalances in the brain can contribute to anxiety and depression. Various factors, including genetics, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices, can cause these imbalances. Neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine play a role in regulating mood and behavior.

If a person’s level of these neurotransmitters is off balance, it can cause anxiety and depression. Antidepressants and other medications can help restore balance in the brain, aiding in treatment. Chiropractic care optimizes the nervous system, improving hormone regulation and the brain’s ability to assess what the body needs to thrive.
