Why We take X-rays on Patients With Headaches | Chiropractor for Headaches in Boulder, CO
All right, Dr. Duff here. And today, I want to explain what one of the things that we do is to assess what the root cause of things like headaches and neck pain come from.
Headache Assessments with X-rays
So when we do our assessments to find the root cause, there are a number of things that we do to help identify exactly where that issue is coming from, and what’s causing this nagging pain either in the neck or the heads, neck, neck or the head. And one of those things is like range of motion, other standard neurological and orthopedic tests. But one of the greatest ways is to use X ray evaluation to get a closer look of where the spine is at whether there’s any degeneration in the spine. And where overall posture is in alignment is in our spine. So in our office here, we do have an x ray machine so that we can give the best possible care going forward. We do take X rays on our patients, for things like neck pain and headaches, we do focus on viewing what’s happening here in the cervical region, to identify if there are any misalignments. And what we’ll do is we’ll study those and we’ll view them together and figure out if any misalignments here are what’s creating these neck pain, or headache bouts. And so it’s really nice that we have it here. It’s digital and state of the art. Eventually once we take the film’s they do pop up on our monitor backpack behind us, and we can study those together and help our patients identify where these issues are coming from. And then we will create a solution based off of that, that involves things like exercises, adjustments, laser therapy, and traction, and many more. So it’s a crucial component to finding out what’s happening in your body because hands alone and looking at posture are not enough to really figure out what’s happening in the spine. That’s really only a window into your spine and your nervous system.
X rays will help us figure out exactly where those problem areas are, and also help us give us the best possible chance at giving you the best care going forward.
