Don’t Let It Ruin Your Quality Of Life!

Stress could very well be considered the public enemy #1of our time. It can affect all aspects of life, including how you feel, think, behave and how your body and metabolism work. It is also a major factor in cancer development.Common signs of stress include: sleeping problems; headaches; muscle tension or pain; dizziness; sweating; loss of appetite; difficulty concentrating; anxious and irritable feelings, and low self-esteem. You may also experience racing thoughts, constant worry or going over things in your head continuously.Living a stressful life is no fun for anyone, and it comes with many health and social consequences. If you feel that stress is taking a big toll in your quality of life and on your health, give us a call at 303-440-0500 for a FREE Exam + Consultation, to help you lower your stress levels in Boulder with our Massage Therapy and help you improve your overall health with our Comprehensive Chiropractic Care. These 4 tips can also help you better cope with it and improve your stress-managing skills:

1) Exercise And Go Outdoors

Spending time outdoorsis linked to better well-being. Nature helps you relax and to get physically active. Doing regular exercise is also great to manage stress, as it improves your mood, clears your head and lets you take a break from whatever is stressing you out.

2) Love Yourself

We all have a constant stream of thoughts running in our heads, and sometimes what we think of ourselves doesn’t help either. Try to be gentle with yourself and avoid self-destructing thoughts, while working out a solution.

3) Take A Deep Breath

Focusing on your breath eases your body’s urge to flee or fight under pressing or fearsome circumstances, and it draws your attention away from negative thoughts. If necessary, sit comfortably in a quiet place, breathe in slowly through your nose, letting your chest and lower belly rise and your abdomen expand, then breathe out just as slowly. Doing this for at least 10 minutes will give you greater results.

4) It’s Ok To Vent Your Emotions, But Do It Safely

We all need to vent at some point. Whether you prefer to write down your feelings or tell a non-judgmental friend what’s eating you, is entirely your choice. Just remember to do so with the intention of letting go whatever is haunting you, and not to fall into a self-pity game of torture. Venting pure emotion energy is one of the best things you can do to release stress: allow yourself to cry if you are sad, acknowledge the feeling of fear in your body or scream in a thick pillow or hit it if you are angry. Once the energy is gone, you can move on. Focusing on the present moment is the key to vent and let go your stressed energy appropriately, which will help you be happy again and avoid hurting others with your emotions.
